Dudley Augustus "Gus" Cheney, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 19, 2023.
The funeral and burial will be private. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff of Candler Hospital - ER, ICU, PCU, and 6th floor, the wonderful staff at Hospice Savannah, and to the many friends and acquaintances for their attentiveness during this time - the cards, calls, prayers, and many acts of kindness and concern. We have been greatly blessed. Gus, enjoy the reunion with your family and friends!!!! See you later!!!!

Sorry to get this news. Gus was a nice guy when we were in school, riding the school bus every day. And he was a farm neighbor. He had our back, enjoyed playing jokes on us, in a friendly manner. I always liked his calmness and sincerity. Condolences to his family.
